Alfred Edwards, age 72, of Red Oak, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at his residence in Red Oak. He was born in Stillwell, Oklahoma to Henry Alfred Edwards and Bertha Beatrice (Dunn) Edwards. He and Lometa Joyce Shaw were married for 53 years. Spiritual Advisement From The Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mr. Edwards is survived by: wife, Lometa Edwards of Red Oak, Texas; sons, John and Cherry Edwards of Red Oak, Texas; Alfred and Ann Edwards of Red Oak, Texas; daughters, Rhonda & Thomas Riley of Red Oak, Texas; Paula and Willem Noteboom of Sherman, Texas; Phylis and Pete Daniels of Red Oak, Texas; sister, Bea Mitchell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and friends and family.

The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday 5-7 PM at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of his life will be 10:00 AM Monday October 3, 2005 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dan Gleason officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jerod Cobb, David Cobb, Travis Hamilton, Mike Riley, Matt Riley, Marc Riley, Jason Noteboom and Jacob Noteboom. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wesley Edwards and Cory Edwards. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery.
