Alfred Arevalo age 63 left this earth to be
with his Lord and Savior on June 16th at
Baylor Scott and White Medical center
Waxahachie.
Alfred worked most of his life at Saint
Gobain (formally known as Kerr Glass) in
Waxahachie. He was a member of The
Avenue and enjoyed serving on the safety
team there. He loved his family fiercely and
enjoyed spending time with his
grandchildren, playing with them and
watching them grow. He also enjoyed giving
his two boys a hard time about mowing
their yard and keeping their cars clean :)
His other passions were hunting and
fishing, he always caught the biggest fish or
shot the biggest deer, well so he said. He
was so very happy when his oldest
granddaughter shot her first deer last
season, and would watch the video of her
excitement over and over. He also enjoyed
riding his Harley. He always had a
motorcycle but his dream was to own a
Harley before he turned 60. It was just a
few months before his 60th birthday when
he found his dream bike. He enjoyed
meeting new friends while out riding and
loved the trips he took with old friends. We
had some of the most amazing times on the
road. There is so much more to say about
Al, but it is very hard to condense such a
great life he lived into a short space and he
really enjoyed his life to the fullest even
though he had so many health issues. He
also took pride in all he had; not just
material things which he kept clean and
running and organized, but pride in his boys
and grandchildren - they were a very big
part of his life and still are! He was an
amazing man. If anyone needed anything
he would help anyway he could. We will
miss him until we see him again and I know
we will. We talked a lot about God and our
life here and after with our Lord Jesus. I
encourage anyone reading this to have a
relationship with the Lord. Just be yourself,
you do not have to be perfect to be loved
and accepted by God.
Al was preceded in death by his dad
Reymond Martinez and his brother Samuel
(Bo) Arevalo. He is survived by his mother
Sonora Martinez, brother John Arevalo and
wife Mary and his brother Mike Martinez
and wife Karen. He also has so many
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews to mention by name, but he loved
them all. Finally, Al is survived by his wife of
45 years Barbie. His son Chris and wife
Jennifer and their children Morgan and
Konor. His son Zachary and his children
Baelin, Samuel, Charlotte and Avery.
Alfred was an organ and tissue donor and
will have a celebration of life memorial at a
later date. He had always been told since
he was a diabetic he could not be a donor,
but yes he could, and he did!
