Ada Dora Matlock, age 88
July 14, 1915
August 24, 2003

Mrs. Matlock, a lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Sunday night at the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Nursing Home in Ennis. She was born in Malone (Ellis County), TX. to L. C. and Effie (Padgett) Berry. She was a graduate of Avalon High School. She married her first husband Cleave Robinson in 1940, was widowed in 1972, married her second husband Bob Matlock in 1980. He preceded her in death in 1985. Mrs. Matlock was employed with the Ennis Business Forms for 25 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Avalon Baptist Church but later joined Calvary Baptist Church in Ennis. She enjoyed painting and had a love for cats and dogs. Mrs. Matlock belonged to IOOF, and Rebekah's.

She is survived by: one brother and sister-in-law, Aubry and Leatrice Berry of Avalon; and one niece, Cheryl Berry Turner and her husband Phil of Waxahachie. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Wednesday in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Larry Poarch and Reverend Grady Cashion officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Southard, Bill Southard, Steve Nicholson, Dwight Duncan, Joe Wilson and Jerry Wilson. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery, Avalon.
