A. S. "Buck" Buchanan, 82 of Rockett, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 in a Dallas hospital. He was born to the late A. S. Buchanan, Sr. and Maud A. Hamilton Buchanan on January 15, 1929 in Rockett, Texas. Buck retired from Sears and Roebuck in 1989 as a Controlled Buyer. Buck loved yard work, flowers and taking care of others. Having a servants heart, he devoted years of service to the Rockett Christian Church where he was a life-time member. Buck was truly devoted to his loving wife and 5 sons. Family was most important to Buck and he spent his life providing and loving them. Buck will be truly missed by so many who loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jerry Buchanan of Rockett; his sons, Steve Buchanan and his wife, Cindy of Waxahachie, Tony Buchanan and his wife, Marsha of Rockett, John Mark Buchanan of Rockett, Paul Buchanan and his wife, Diana of Cushing, Doug Buchanan and his wife, Susan of Waxahachie; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Red Oak Cemetery.
